Time Is Of The Essence

At some point, you may have signed or encountered a document and noticed the words, “time is of the essence.” For instance, it is often found in real estate contracts. It may have been in small print, and you may not have even given it a thought.

So what exactly does the phrase “time is of the essence” mean?

“Time is of the essence” is primarily a phrase used in some type of contract expressing the need for immediate, or timely completion. Time and dates of the agreement are essential to the completion of the terms, and any delay could be grounds for canceling or nullifying the agreement.

Time is a precious commodity.

The older I get, it seems the faster time flies. It has been said, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” I’m now convinced that time flies whether you’re having fun or not.

As we turn the page of the calendar and enter a new year, many of us pause and reflect on the year that just passed and refocus on the year just ahead. Many are making resolutions, setting goals, and preparing new vision boards.

How many of those goals and plans are you carrying over from last year? Or, maybe even the year before?

“I wanted to, if only I had the time.”

The path of procrastination is paved with good intentions.

Our life on earth has been compared to a vapor or a mist in the Bible.

You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? It is just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. James 4:14

Our time on earth is brief; the number of our days is already decided by You (God). Every man has been allotted a number of days here on earth. Job 14:5

Someday, I’m gonna . . .
Someday is not a day on the calendar.

Regardless of who you are or where you are, every person on the planet has 24 hours in a day. There are 31,536,000 seconds in the year. How you use them and what you accomplish is based on the choices you make every day.

You are valuable, and it is imperative that you unwrap and release the gifts God has placed within you. You have been born and placed on the earth for this specific time.

If you have something you want to do, don’t wait, just do it.
If you have somewhere you want to go, find a way.
If you have someone you care about, let them know.

Tomorrow is not promised. Time waits for no one. Time doesn’t care about your resolutions, your goals, or your plans. Time will move on, with or without you.

Treasure your time. Use it wisely. You’re not getting any younger.

Unlike money, time cannot be gotten back once it’s been spent.

Don’t just count your days, make your days count!

It doesn’t matter how old you are . . . time is of the essence.

Still Believing!
